Felicia, the staff liaison, told the board the Earth Day/Arbor Day celebration will run 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., begin with proclamations and opening announcements, and include a performance by Mondo Tikki from roughly 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. She asked members to wear City of Sebastian polos or business casual for photos during the proclamation portion and to help with setup and vendor check-in, with some volunteers needed as early as 7 a.m.
On sustainability programming, Felicia said the board is hosting a Recycle Right workshop at 5:00 p.m. on May 5, organized with the solid waste disposal district of Indian River County and the Splash River Area Chamber of Commerce. The resident-focused session will cover curbside pickup rules and programs that require drop-off, and staff said they hope to run a later business-focused workshop with the chamber.
Logistics: Felicia said the board expects "upwards of 80 vendors," that standard retail vendors were charged about $25 this year while food trucks were charged $50, and that nonprofits were not charged. She said flyers and digital files will be distributed for promotion, and that poster-contest winners will be announced in the afternoon program around 2:00.
