Board approves settlements with associates, secretaries and food‑service staff

District negotiators summarized recently ratified settlement agreements with three employee groups and asked the board to approve them.
John explained the associate group agreement represents a total package increase of about 4.24, which included targeted hourly increases and adjustments to longevity pay. "We brought those in and then we also gave a 42 cent hourly increase for all current staff and we increased the base wage for new hires by the same amount," John said.
The secretary group reached a 3% total package settlement with a 50‑cent hourly increase and an additional 1% adjustment; food‑service employees ratified a 3.58% total package increase. The custodians' agreement was complete but still pending member ratification and will return to the board when finalized.
After presentation and an opportunity for questions, a board motion to approve the settlements carried by voice vote.
What changed: the settlements include modest hourly increases for current staff, increased base wages for new hires in those groups and adjustments to longevity tiers; district staff said the agreements have been presented and ratified by the bargaining units where applicable.
Next step: the custodians' ratification will be confirmed at a future meeting, and negotiations with the teachers' group will begin in the near term.
