Orland Park board clears broad consent agenda; approves vehicle, tree and survey items

Among the consent and related approvals: a resolution supporting renewal of a Class 7C Cook County property‑tax classification for a business at 8760 West 159th Street; authorization for a Davy Tree Expert Company contract for the West Avenue tree‑planting project (not to exceed $33,080) with in‑house watering included; approval to purchase five Ford Maverick trucks via a Sourcewell cooperative for the Emergency Management Agency (not to exceed $167,516.25) as the village professionalizes the unit; master services agreements with multiple engineering and architecture firms to create rosters for future projects; and a statistically representative community survey with PCO for $38,450.
Trustees used the consent process to pass many of the routine ordinances, permits and awards on the agenda. Several trustees asked clarifying questions on individual items — for example, trustees probed tree species selection, watering and warranty for the West Avenue project and asked for governance and performance metrics for the community survey and for Citybot (approved separately). The consent agenda underwent a procedural reconsideration at the end of the meeting to correct letter ranges in the clerk’s reading and ensure the record reflected the board’s intent.
