Atoka council approved a manufacturer installation quote from GameTime to assemble donated playground equipment at a city park near the tennis courts. Staff said the equipment — reportedly worth a little over $100,000 and supplied through a Chakawa Nation grant — requires precise GPS hole placement, survey work and correct impact‑material depths to meet safety and liability standards.
The city manager explained that although the city has capable crews, dedicating four to five public works employees for up to two weeks would strain operations and leave gaps for emergency work. Using the manufacturer’s installation team avoids those scheduling and technical risks, staff said. Council approved the installation contract and instructed staff to proceed with site preparations and scheduling.
