City manager Mr. Dodson said the proposed structure responds to rising equipment and personnel costs, noting the municipality must staff the transfer station continuously and provide backups. He told trustees, “these rates just kind of reflect where some of the averages are going up across the board.” Council members highlighted heavier increases on large rolloffs — the 20‑yard fee rose from about $350 to $400 and the 40‑yard from about $600 to $700 — while smaller truck and trailer loads were largely unchanged.
Board members asked for the prior rates and documentation; staff agreed to provide copies for review. The council also discussed the transfer station’s phone/coverage limitations for callers and the citywide cleanup program that the city subsidizes. Officials said the city typically covers multiple loads during cleanup weeks and that the new structure aims to balance commercial and residential costs.
The resolution was moved, seconded and adopted by roll call vote (all present voting yes). The council instructed staff to post updated rates and to bring any further customer‑rate adjustments back to a future meeting for consideration.
