Amherst County schedules public hearing for VDOT six‑year secondary roads plan; Gettys Mountain construction funds noted

Board members questioned prioritization criteria for unpaved roads and eligibility for rural unpaved‑road grant money, noting a 50 vehicles/day traffic threshold for some grant programs. Mr. Brown said staff can run special traffic counts and reprioritize projects; the board directed staff to schedule a public hearing on May 19 to allow public comment and adjustments.
No final adoption of the six‑year plan occurred at this meeting; the hearing will create an official record for later action.
