A CASA representative described the organization’s primary volunteer role—court‑appointed advocates who work with children involved in the court system for the life of a case—and additional services including a supervised visitation center and a child advocacy center that conducts forensic interviews to reduce trauma for child victims. The representative said CASA accepts volunteers and offers alternative support roles for those not comfortable with one‑on‑one advocacy.
The board introduced Kelly Williams, Jamie Cox and Tamara Mortz as the CASA guests; the speaker who gave program details noted the organization’s website, caselbks.org, as the primary contact for volunteer inquiries and identified Jamie Cox as the new primary volunteer point of contact. A photo opportunity with the commissioners followed the remarks.
Procedural items handled earlier in the meeting included approval of the amended agenda and consent minutes; both motions passed 3–0. The meeting adjourned to a workshop on solid waste and staff noted printed sales‑tax figures would be used with budget worksheets.
