The Rochester Public Schools board voted April 7 to approve a commercial purchase agreement for the former Mighty Oaks Schoolhouse and to transmit a formal response to the American Indian Parent Advisory Committee (APAC).
By resolution the board authorized sale of the property at 3800 50th Avenue SE to Allen Investments LLC for $1.5 million and directed the board chair and clerk to execute closing documents. The motion passed by voice vote.
Separately the board voted to approve a final draft of the district's response to APAC's letter of non-concurrence and directed administration to send the response to APAC members and to continue collaboration. The action followed a presentation by APAC members in which they delivered their concerns; board members expressed appreciation for APAC's engagement and committed to continued work.
Both items were approved during the April 7 meeting as routine board actions; the superintendent and staff will proceed with transaction steps for the property sale and follow-up communications with APAC.
