The Planning & Zoning Commission recommended that city council rezone a 3.252‑acre parcel (file 20007006890) from Planned Development to Institutional to allow the municipal complex and a police station to occupy the site.
Staff explained the rezoning would simplify review under Institutional use categories and allow the municipal building and police station uses under the city’s ordinance. Staff said the process will still require final building and civil reviews, and that variances (for example, sign variances) would return to the commission if needed.
A motion to recommend approval was made, seconded and carried by voice vote; the recommendation will be forwarded to city council for final action.
