Benton County proclaims April 12–18 as Public Safety Telecommunicators Week

Sheriff Troy, appearing virtually, asked the board to adopt a resolution recognizing the week of April 12–18 as National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week to honor dispatch and communications staff who answer emergency calls.
"We have an excellent staff of people that are in our [public safety center] and they're the ones that are the voice of calm out there for people," Troy said, describing dispatchers' role handling calls and radios during chaotic incidents.
Commissioners expressed appreciation for telecommunicators' work, moved to adopt the proclamation and directed the chair to sign. The motion passed by voice vote.
