Board approves consent agenda, $11,700 police grant amendment and bylaws change; conducts closed session

At its April 6 meeting the Hope Mills Board of Commissioners approved routine and administrative items and documented several formal actions.

Consent agenda: The board approved items A, B and C under the consent agenda with no opposition. The meeting also noted the appointment of Commissioner Lisa Tremble as the Hope Mills Chamber of Commerce board liaison.

AAA grant and budget amendment: Staff (Drew) told the board the town had received a $11,700 AAA grant for the police department and requested budget amendment number 24 to record the revenue and corresponding expense. The board moved, seconded and approved the budget amendment.

Homelessness Advisory Committee bylaws: The board approved amended bylaws for the Homelessness Advisory Committee; the only stated revision was a change to the quorum language handled by staff (Ashley).

Closed session and sealed minutes: The board moved into a closed session pursuant to N.C. Gen. Stat. 143-318.11(6) to discuss personnel matters. After returning, a motion to seal the closed-session minutes until release would no longer frustrate the purpose was approved; the minutes were sealed and the chair stated no action was taken during the closed session.
