County engineer: box culvert designs submitted; road repairs to await DOT review and better weather

Rich, the county engineer, told the Worth County Board of Supervisors that a pre-construction meeting was held for a pair of 93-inch box culverts and that the county is waiting for all design submissions so shop drawings can be approved and fabrication can begin.
"We had a pre-con for a pair of 93 box culverts... we're waiting for all the submissions for the box culvert designs so we can approve those shop drawings and then they can get moving on that," Rich said, describing the sequence that will determine the schedule. He added that recent heavy rain has left roads in poor condition and crews will wait until surfaces are firm enough to work without causing further damage.
Rich also said he expects DOT to complete its review of the county's budget and program; materials must be returned to DOT by the 15th for review, and the county will then review DOT's comments. He said finishing work on a maintenance facility is scheduled so the floor can be poured in April to allow insulation and roofing to proceed, while the office facility still waits on windows and doors.
