Principal Steve Luker also requested to partner with the MTSU concrete program to pour pedestrian sidewalks and other walkways behind the school's home stadium to mitigate standing-water and muddy conditions; materials are estimated at $8,000–$10,000 and capital projects funds would be used. MTSU would donate labor.
On a separate legal item, the director of schools recommended denying admission to a transfer student who had been expelled from another district for a threat of mass violence, citing district policy 6.318 that permits denying admission of students under suspension or expulsion except those in state custody.
Next steps: Administration will proceed with the procurement and permitting steps for the Rockvale projects as appropriate and the board will act on the transfer recommendation according to policy and any required hearings.
