Key approvals included acceptance of a $500 donation from Insurers of Texas for a county employee health and safety expo; Resolution 26‑008 renaming the Brazos County Specialty Court to Brazos County Recovery Court; participation by the sheriff's office in a 2025 Justice Assistance Grant with Bryan and College Station; issuance of a county credit card to Extension Agent Steven Bugenoff with a $3,000 limit; and approval of multiple utility permits (Comcast, Weld SUD, BTU, Welburn SUD and Holly Oil) and subdivision/final plat approvals in Precincts 1 and 2. The court also approved routine finance items including the treasurer's report for January 2026, tax refund applications, budget amendments (1401–1405) and payment of claims.
Announcements included distribution of budget worksheets to departments, a public "How budgets work" information session April 23, and a "How to do business with local government" event April 30 hosted by the Bryan‑College Station Chamber of Commerce, Workforce Solutions and county staff.
The court convened an executive session under several Texas Government Code sections to consult with counsel and discuss litigation, contracts, real property and personnel matters; it returned about 12:16 p.m. with no action reported and adjourned.
