Grant County adopts two snowmobile-club resolutions and finalizes an appropriation-request policy

The Grant County board approved routine seasonal resolutions for two snowmobile clubs and finalized a county policy governing appropriation requests from outside organizations.

The board adopted Resolution 2026407-1 renewing county authorization for the Otter Country Trail Association for the 2026–27 season, and subsequently approved Resolution 2026407-2 for the Low Plains Drifters Club for the same season; both motions were routine renewals of long-standing arrangements and passed by voice vote.

Separately, staff presented a finalized Grant County appropriation-request policy that formalizes how outside agencies submit requests and what documentation is required. One commissioner recommended—and the board accepted—an explicit addition: when an organization has an independent external audit, the completed audit (including balance sheet, profit-and-loss and notes) should be provided as part of the submission. With that change the board approved the policy and staff said they would distribute the policy to agencies that have requested appropriations in the past.

Staff said there are limited exemptions for organizations that have board members who sit on the county board's committees; those exemptions are noted in the policy.
