At the start of its April 6 meeting the board adopted a proclamation recognizing April 2026 as Guardian ad Litem Child Advocate Month.
County staff described the North Carolina Guardian ad Litem program’s work and noted Person County currently has 37 volunteer advocates serving 87 children and preparing court reports and attending hearings. The proclamation commends volunteers and staff and urges community groups and leaders to increase participation; Chairman Kyle Puria signed the document.
