Baldwin County recognizes five employees of the quarter

The Baldwin County Commission used part of its April 7 agenda to recognize five county employees selected as first‑quarter 2026 Employees of the Quarter. Supervisors and nominators described long service and examples of impactful work.
Kelly Childress presented Kina Phillips of the Council on Aging; Phillips — who has served for 22 years — was praised for helping seniors with Medicare drug plans and for assisting a household with a roof replacement that saved the family an estimated $10,000, according to the nomination read into the record. Emergency Management Agency staff and Tom (EMA) honored Karen Jordano for operational and hospitality support. Personnel director Bo Bonner and highway employees Robert White (Rusty) and Lauren Thompson were also recognized for dedication, mentorship and success negotiating right‑of‑way agreements.
Commissioners thanked the honorees and noted the awards help highlight positive county service. Winners posed for photos following the presentations.
