Dan told council members the transfer had been anticipated during prior negotiations and that the parties had provided a brief bio of Grimway Farms in the council packet. He said the ownership change is formalized through the council’s approval step and emphasized that employee agreements are already in place to retain staff.
Councilors asked whether the change would disrupt operations; presenters assured the council that most operations and employees would remain. The resolution passed by roll call.
The action completes a regulatory step required for the ownership transfer and clears the way for Grimway Farms to proceed with local operations under the existing SIU agreement.
