Staff reviewed a breakdown of recently received city funds and other program opportunities and highlighted community outreach events.
The packet included a use breakdown for Colorado (CO) funding items—examples mentioned during the meeting were an internet antenna at the Dayton mobile home park, IT equipment for city hall and personal protective equipment. Staff also outlined a "Love Local" storefront cost-share grant available through the county for building improvements in Oldtown and said the EDA had at least one interested property owner who could be assisted through the application.
Staff reminded members of an Economic Development Association of Minnesota webinar and asked members to let staff know if they wished to be signed up. The city open house was scheduled for Wednesday, May 13 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the public works facility, and an online event was noted for Wednesday, February 18 at 6 p.m. The next EDA meeting date was set for Tuesday, March 17.
Members asked staff to circulate links and sign-up invites and to follow up on interested storefront applicants. No grants were approved or awarded at the meeting; the discussion was informational and focused on outreach and next steps for applicants.
