The Wesley Town Council voted March 2 to award a $74,995 contract to RT Nunes & Sons, Inc. to repair a failed stormwater drain on Breach Drive. Town staff explained the pipe replacement responds to recurring flooding in the low, tidal roadway and that the project obtained Coastal Resources Management Council (CRMC) authorization.
Town manager Lacy said the corrugated pipe that carries stormwater under Breach Drive has degraded and the replacement will restore drainage to reduce tidal flooding on the street. Bids were solicited and RT Nunes was the low responsive bidder. Councilor motion and a recorded voice vote approved the contract.
Timing and funding: The council said funding is available in the capital or stormwater budget and work can proceed once the contract documents are finalized and the contractor schedules the work. Residents will be notified of construction timing and temporary access impacts.
