Berkeley Heights Board recognizes student liaisons Olivia Jiki and Jake Bowen

The Berkeley Heights Board of Education on June 10 presented resolutions honoring its student liaisons for the 2023–24 school year.
Junior liaison Olivia Jiki of Governor Livingston High School was recognized for leadership roles including vice president of Science Olympiad and co-president of WeSTEM, plus volunteer work with local organizations. Olivia spoke briefly, thanking the Board for the opportunity to serve as a liaison.
Senior liaison Jake Bowen of Governor Livingston High School was honored for his work as co-editor-in-chief of the Highlander newspaper and for his broader service to the student body; the Board wished him success as he prepares to study broadcast and digital journalism at Syracuse University. Bowen offered remarks reflecting on his experience serving on the Board and the lessons he gained about district governance.
Both recognitions were presented during the awards portion of the meeting with applause from attendees.
