Glen Meadow’s CCLC after-school program saw near-150 summer attendees, principal says

Jackie Van Warden, principal of Glen Meadow Middle School, said the school’s 21st Century Community Learning Centers (CCLC) after-school program attracted over 100 students this summer and at times approached 150 — above the program’s stated quota of 135. The free program for grades 6–8 included trips to the Liberty Science Center, Treescape, Van Son Park and the zoo, and offered academic help, physical fitness, culinary activities, STEM, performing and visual arts and esports.
Van Warden said strong staffing contributed to the program’s success and that the school intends to continue expanding participation in the coming year.
