He told the board the purchase is fully funded by an Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG): "It's 100% funded through the Edward Burn Grant, Jag Burn Grant, sorry," according to the transcript.
Supporters said the e‑bikes will help officers traverse hills, respond more quickly at festivals and parks, and allow coordinated patrols with community partners on trails and at events. The motion to approve the agreement passed by voice vote; recorded affirmative votes in the transcript came from supervisors Tom Broker, Jim Perry and Shane Campbell.
County staff said the signed agreement will be returned to the county for final signatures and record keeping; the county requested copies once fully executed.
