Isanti — The Isanti City Council voted Feb. 18 to approve the purchase of a Bobcat T450 skid steer from Crawford's Equipment under a source-state bid. The City’s Capital Improvement Plan had allocated $53,000; the accepted bid was $57,936.86.
Director Becker said the $4,936.86 overrun can be covered by current reserves and the city’s long-term plan, and cautioned that delaying the purchase could increase costs due to tariffs and market changes. Councillors asked about existing machine hours and whether the city would trade in older units; staff said the plan was to retain existing machines as backups.
Council Member Lundine moved to approve the purchase; Council Member Heman seconded. The motion passed on a 4–0 voice vote.
