Senior Director of Facilities Craig Rouse opened a brief public hearing recommending the change. He told the board the proposed residential fee would rise from $4.79 to $5.17 per square foot and the commercial fee from $0.78 to $0.84 per square foot, with an effective date of June 16, 2024. The hearing drew no public commenters and trustees moved to adopt the resolution.
The board approved the resolution by roll‑call vote; all five trustees voted yes. The district stated the fee change is intended to align the district’s fees with updated nexus study findings and to take effect 60 days after adoption, consistent with state timelines for impact‑fee implementation.
What the resolution does: it adjusts the per‑square‑foot school mitigation charges that cities and developers use when planning new residential and commercial construction; the change will apply to building permits issued on or after the effective date.
