"There's no way this is happening before February, March of next year," a committee member interjected, citing legislative timing and the general assembly calendar. Board members agreed that the timing and the upcoming local election—after which a new mayor would chair this board—make it appropriate to pause formal drafting now and resume work later in the year.
The board asked staff to calendar continued discussion of the private-act cleanup for the June meeting so members can review proposed drafts and allow new leadership an opportunity to provide input.
No formal vote or ordinance was adopted at the meeting; the discussion was informational and resulted in scheduling follow-up.
