The commission’s education committee reported a composting workshop to be held at the senior center on Jan. 8 at 6:30 p.m., and confirmed outreach materials have been posted on the commission’s website and social media.
Members said the astronomy club will attend the Feb. 23 meeting to discuss dark‑sky initiatives, and the commission scheduled its annual stream cleanup for Saturday, April 11. The chair asked for last year’s cleanup figures so the event totals can be included in the annual report and publicity. Commissioners agreed to recycle prior advertisements with updated dates and to coordinate with the Lower Raritan Watershed Partnership for event listings.
There were no motions related to the events; members noted the compost flyer is already posted and encouraged further social media outreach and partnering with local nonprofits to broaden participation.
