Council adopts resolution creating sewer assessment reimbursement area for Roosevelt roundabout project

The Enumclaw City Council on April 27 adopted Resolution 18‑72 establishing a sewer assessment reimbursement area to recover costs for sewer constructed as part of the Roosevelt Avenue roundabout project.
City staff explained that when the roundabout project was awarded more than two years ago the estimated recoverable cost was about $60,000, and later soil and administrative factors increased the amount to just under $88,000 to be recaptured from four parcels that will ultimately connect to the new gravity sewer installed through the intersection.
"We would recommend approval of Resolution 18‑72 that would allow that sewer reimbursement document to be recorded against those four parcels," said Chris Searcy, who gave the staff report. Council moved, seconded and passed the resolution by voice vote; no roll-call tally was recorded in the meeting transcript.
The resolution authorizes staff to record the latecomers' reimbursement agreement against the affected parcels so future hookups will reimburse the city for the front‑ended installation costs. Staff said it would be happy to answer questions; none were raised that altered the recommendation.
Next step: staff will record the reimbursement agreement against the identified parcels as authorized by the adopted resolution.
