The Finance Committee moved to re-refer consideration of the city’s proposed purchase-and-sale agreement and lease-back for 3030 Darbo Drive with the Salvation Army to the May 11 Finance Committee meeting.
Members moved and seconded the re-referral after staff said the Salvation Army requested additional time to complete its multi-step internal approval process. Alderman Figueroa Cole asked that when the item returns staff provide a full presentation so members and the public can understand the transaction; she noted the matter has already attracted public attention.
The committee recorded a unanimous voice vote in favor of re-referral; no formal vote on the purchase was taken at this meeting.
