The Wright County Board of Commissioners elected Commissioner Darek Vetsch to serve as board chair for 2026 during its Jan. 6 meeting. County Administrator Greg Kryzer opened nominations at 9:00 a.m., Commissioner Nadine Schoen nominated Vetsch, and Commissioner Jeanne Holland seconded the motion; the board voted unanimously in favor.
The board then elected Nadine Schoen as vice-chair after a separate vote at 9:01 a.m. Nominations included Commissioner Tina Diedrick for Vice-Chair and Moynagh and Schoen both receiving votes; the tally produced a 3–2 result and Chair Vetsch announced Schoen as Vice-Chairperson.
The board also approved its 2026 meeting and workshop schedule and adopted committee assignments, with Kryzer noting the removal of Commissioner Vetsch as alternate to the Great River Regional Library Board before the committee appointments were approved.
