Sherwood Village Council authorizes cybersecurity program and votes to contract Mark Weaner to implement it

The Sherwood Village Council on Oct. 15 voted to authorize efforts to institute a cybersecurity program required by the Ohio Auditor of State and later approved contracting meeting participant Mark Weaner to implement it.

Administrator and Fiscal Officer Sherri Ramey told the council the Auditor of State is mandating a new cybersecurity program and said she asked Mark Weaner for assistance on the matter. Councilor Jamie Vogelsong moved to authorize efforts to institute the cybersecurity program; the motion was seconded by Alex Buchhop and carried by recorded affirmative votes. Later, following executive sessions recorded as being for legal matters, the council moved and approved a separate motion to contract Mark Weaner to institute the cybersecurity program.
