Commission names Gordon-Floyd Development Authority appointee, declares sheriff vehicle surplus and selects fire-station architect

The board approved an appointment or reappointment to the Gordon-Floyd Development Authority for a three-year term ending April 1, 2029 (motion carried 5-0). The commission also approved a request from the Sheriff’s Office to declare a 2015 Ford Taurus Interceptor surplus (motion carried 5-0).
The commission selected Carlson & Carlson Architects as Architect of Record for the Sugar Valley Fire Station. The agenda line listed an amount of $6,000; County Administrator Jim Ledbetter clarified the architect’s total fee is calculated as six percent of construction cost. The motion to approve the architect selection passed 5-0.
These routine approvals clear the way for administrative follow-up: the appointment will be recorded, surplus procedures for the vehicle will proceed per county policy, and staff will move forward with the architect under procurement and budget rules.
