The Solano County Board of Supervisors convened a special meeting and promptly moved into closed session to discuss labor negotiations under Government Code section 54957.6, the board chair said.
The clerk called roll and recorded Supervisor Brown as present, noted Supervisor Vasquez and Chair Mashburn as present, recorded Supervisor James as absent and said Supervisor Williams appeared to be running late. The chair said there were no public comment cards and the clerk reported no participants online.
After the board adopted the agenda by motion and second, the clerk read two closed-session items. The first was "conference with labor negotiators pursuant to Government Code section 54957.6," involving Solano County representatives and employee organizations listed on the agenda. The second item was a similar conference with labor negotiators for the In-Home Supportive Services Authority and its employee organizations.
"There will be no report out on this for the meeting," Chair Mashburn said before adjourning to closed session. The chair then announced a roughly 10-minute recess before the board convened upstairs for the closed session.
No formal vote on any substantive labor agreement or report was taken in open session and the board provided no timeline for any future public updates.
