Board adopts ceremonial resolutions on veterans, farmworkers, domestic violence and employees

The board adopted a resolution honoring William “Bill” Emlen for more than 15 years with Solano County and 44 years in public service; supervisors praised his leadership in resource management, redistricting and ARPA allocations. The board also adopted a resolution recognizing Christine (Chris) Rogers for nearly 21 years of service to the county.
Other unanimous actions included a resolution recognizing October 2025 as Domestic Violence Awareness Month, a resolution commemorating the 250th anniversary of the United States Navy and a resolution acknowledging October as California Farmer and Farm Worker Month. Members of local veterans’ groups, the Solano County Farm Bureau and California Human Development spoke in support of the recognitions.
Human Resources also presented Oliver Broadbent as the department’s employee of the month. The board approved the meeting agenda and adopted the consent calendar by recorded vote of 5-0.
