Town manager outlines ongoing storm recovery, FEMA process and debris removal

An element of the recovery (laser grading and dirt work for ball fields) has moved forward to bid and staff will review bids to determine contract awards so the fields can be ready for spring athletics.
Debris removal remains a major operational focus. The county contractor (SDR) has been collecting vegetative debris and will shift crews to construction and demolition (C&D) debris; staff asked residents to file online requests to ensure priority pickup. Mark said hazardous waste (household chemicals and paints) and white‑goods pickup are on the coordination list and encouraged residents to provide photos and addresses when requesting collection to help the county crews find piles.
Mark said town staff continue to monitor private road damage and coordinate with county efforts; he thanked crews for the progress so far and reminded residents to use online forms to report debris for pickup.
