Calcasieu Parish School Board honors Region 5 fair winners, Students of the Year and Teachers of the Year

The Calcasieu Parish School Board opened its April 14 meeting by recognizing student and staff achievements across the parish.
District staff announced Region 5 social studies and science fair winners and called students to the front for photographs. Administrators read biographical details and honors for the elementary, middle and high school Students of the Year and runner‑ups, noting scholarship awards, GPAs, extracurricular leadership and community service.
The board also named Teachers of the Year at elementary, middle and high school levels and presented principals of the year and support personnel of the year. Presenters described honorees’ leadership, years of service and contributions to students. Family members were invited to stand for group photos and plaques were distributed.
The superintendent and other presenters thanked staff and the community for support and closed the recognition segments before moving to committee reports.
