The Travis Unified School District governing board reported on April 14 that it voted in closed session to appoint Megan Flores as assistant principal at Vanden High School, effective July 1, 2026.
The board’s public report said the appointment was made by a 3–0 vote during closed session on a public-employee appointment agenda item. Superintendent and trustees introduced Flores to the public, and Flores said she is finishing her administrative credentialing program and is excited to join Vanden.
Trustees and staff welcomed Flores and invited her to meet with school leaders and community members in the weeks before the start date.
The board also used the meeting to introduce the new varsity football coach and to recognize athletic directors who received awards, but no separate formal personnel vote for the coach was reported on the public record at the meeting.
Next steps: Flores will begin duties July 1, 2026; the board said it will support her onboarding at Vanden High School.
