Cowlitz County staff recommend $2.68 million bid award for Tower Road Bridge; funding mix includes state and ARPA dollars

Eugenus said five responsive bids were received and one nonresponsive bid excluded; the low bid was slightly above the engineer's estimate but within available funding. She told the board that the project includes funding from a state commerce earmark (reported in the meeting as just under $2 million) and additional ARPA funds to cover construction and inspection costs.
Earlier in the public-works briefing, Eugenus outlined other solicitations: an annual overlay project (estimated at about $2 million) to open on April 13; purchases for landfill geomembrane rolls; and high-density polyethylene pipe used in landfill gas-well construction. She also reported a bid award recommendation for aggregates used in chip-seal (tip-seal) work, naming Sterling Green Crushing as low bidder at a reported $421,216.49.
The board was notified that a public hearing on a Port of Kalama request to vacate the far end of Toadiff Road is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. tomorrow.
