Board approves donations, contracts, student trips, sewer easement and sets Badger Care at $5.50/hour

The board also approved listed financial amendments in a separate motion.
The board approved a slate of volunteers and a set of contracts; during contract discussion a board member asked about a "Lingo" cellular line and staff confirmed it is an additional phone line needed for district technology.
Board members approved student overnight trips, noting one wrestling tournament was approved after-the-fact and the eighth-grade Washington, D.C., trip is scheduled for May 6–8.
The board approved a sewer easement with Kent State Geauga after staff explained the easement was needed because the district’s sewer line lies on Kent State property and an easement had not been recorded. Board member Brenda asked, "Is this just to update it?" and staff explained the legal recording issue.
Finally, the board set the hourly rate for Badger Care (the district’s before- and after-school program) at $5.50 for the coming school year; the motion passed by roll call among present members.
