The Berkshire Local board approved a personnel slate that includes a contract for a new treasurer, Mr. Matthew Hostler.
Superintendent John presented the personnel list and invited Hostler to introduce himself. Hostler said, "I'm just very grateful to be given this opportunity ... just really looking forward to it," and the board responded with congratulations.
The superintendent told the board the district ran its own search and received seven applicants for the position; Hostler emerged as the board’s top choice. The motion to approve the personnel list passed by roll call: Mr. Berman yes, Mr. Manfredi yes, Mrs. Stone yes; Mr. Townsend stated he needed to abstain. The board noted signed contract paperwork was in order.
Board members and the superintendent framed the hire as part of the district’s broader staffing work and emphasized the depth of applicants for posted positions. The approval completes the treasurer appointment and the district said Hostler will begin serving in the role.
