Board approves routine business, two administrative appointments and moves to executive session

The Plainview-Old Bethpage Central School District board on April 13 took a series of procedural and personnel actions and then moved into executive session to discuss collective bargaining.
By voice vote the board approved routine business items and a slate of new-business motions: approval of non-local field trips (item 11.1), approval of the property tax report card for 2026–27 (item 11.3) and a resolution approving a stipulation of settlement and general release related to a confidential student schedule (item 11.4). The transcript records movers and seconders for each motion but does not include a roll-call tally.
The board introduced and approved two administrative appointments: Carrie Dioro was appointed assistant middle-school principal, joining the district from Great Neck Public Schools and set to begin July 1; Kristen Zidell was appointed as a probationary elementary principal effective the next day after serving 19 months as interim principal at Pasadena Elementary School.
The meeting ended its public session after a motion (mover Tara, second Ginger) to move into executive session to discuss collective negotiations.
