Glynn County honors four Georgia Scholars and names CB Greer a National Blue Ribbon School

At its April 14 meeting, the Glynn County Board recognized four Brunswick High seniors as Georgia Scholars and congratulated CB Greer Elementary for earning a 2026 National Blue Ribbon designation — one of five Georgia schools to receive the award in 2026.
During the regular meeting on April 14 the board held a spotlight to recognize student and school achievements.
Pam Growner, assistant principal at Brunswick High School, introduced four students named 2026 Georgia Scholars: Melissa Bedelline (committed to Stanford University, intending to major in chemical engineering and political science); Charlie Clay (committed to Georgia Tech, aerospace and nuclear engineering); Clayton Owens (committed to the University of Georgia, mechanical engineering); and Sadie Weiss (planning UGA, criminal justice and a master’s in public administration). Each student described intended majors and the audience applauded.
The board also celebrated CB Greer Elementary School for earning the 2026 National Blue Ribbon School award from the U.S. Department of Education, noting Greer was one of five Georgia schools recognized in 2026 and praising Principal Robin Hunter, faculty and families for the accomplishment.
The recognitions were followed by photos and public applause; board members thanked students, educators and staff.
