Roane Alliance highlights $7 billion in announced investments, workforce and tourism initiatives

Justin Snow, president and CEO of the Roane Alliance, told the Roane County Commission the organization's annual report shows “momentum” for the county’s economic strategy, including “over $7 billion of announced capital investment in the county” and “over 1,700 jobs that have been announced.”
Snow said the Alliance launched a new tourism effort, “Living in Roane,” with refreshed photography, video assets and updated marketing collateral intended to promote the county’s attractions. He highlighted education and workforce activity, noting that on July 28 Roane County Schools and the Alliance partnered to hold the county’s first nuclear professional development day for every middle- and high-school teacher to learn about industry career paths.
On industrial development, Snow said Roane County was selected as one of three Tennessee communities to participate in the state Property Evaluation Program (PEP), a planning tool the Alliance says will help identify and prepare industrial sites for near-term development. He said the program has already identified sites under contract and that the Alliance is working with the Tennessee Valley Authority and state agencies on grant cycles to secure additional industrial property.
Snow highlighted private-sector activity, saying Cobalt Boats recently purchased an additional 50 acres in the industrial park to support expansion. He urged commissioners and the public to review the full written report for additional partner highlights.
The commission thanked Snow and several members asked to place the Roane Alliance on a future agenda for a fuller briefing. No formal action was taken at the meeting on Alliance requests.
