The board approved a public bid award of $39,995 for front entrance masonry work at Columbus School, with plans to reuse existing handrails to save costs. Board members confirmed the contract was publicly bid and that the low bidder was I E N.
Blackrock Paving was awarded the Bryant School paving and site work project, including alternates, for a total that board staff calculated to be approximately $301,505.29. The project is funded with capital dollars and a DRIP grant.
The board also approved a cooperative contract with Comp-U-Net for the Bryant School playground at $154,469, funded with capital and DRIP grant money.
During discussion of the permit policy (2026–2031), board members asked staff for updated analysis of fees paid by certain users; Mr. Garcia said Lighthouse currently pays $75,000 and staff are updating the fee analysis and will provide more detail shortly.
All contract awards were approved by roll call or voice votes as part of the consent process; one consent item (item D, the permit policy) was pulled for discussion before the vote and subsequently returned and approved in updated form.
