St. Louis County board approves some plumbing licenses, tables others for missing experience

The St. Louis County Board of License Examiners reviewed a batch of master, journeyman and experienced-apprentice applications and recorded mixed outcomes: approvals for applicants with verifiable records, approvals to retest where appropriate, and tabled applications where reviewers could not verify five years of required experience or could not open uploaded documents.
Staff walked the board through portal records and document uploads — noting several JPEGs or multipart uploads that the system could not open — and repeatedly requested affidavits of employment, W-2s or department-of-labor transcripts to document on-the-job experience. For some applicants, staff confirmed that required training hours or PEUs had been uploaded and approved; for others, the uploaded certificates were from nondepartment programs and did not meet the county’s ordinance-required standards.
The board listed specific actions on the record: approving credentials for applicants who had supplied required documentation, approving retest requests where candidates had exhausted a previous renewal window, and tabling several master applications until the applicants submit affidavits or employer verification. At the conclusion of the application review the board moved to approve the recorded actions and voted in favor by voice vote.
Board members said they will contact applicants with missing materials and urged companies and sponsors to provide clear master letters and license numbers when submitting master-letter attestations. Several applicants were given one more opportunity to supply documents before the board will reject applications permanently.
