Commissioners approve amended Recctor subdivision plat and vacate short county road serving Meeker golf course

At its April 14 meeting, the Rio Blanco County Board of County Commissioners approved a straightforward amended plat (PSUB-26-00002) consolidating lots 20–22 in the Recctor subdivision into one lot, after staff confirmed the plat meets the county’s comp plan and land-use regulations.
Commissioners then conducted a public hearing on a request from the Meeker Golf Association to vacate County Road 62, a short county-owned segment that serves the golf course. Staff explained that vacating the road would remove county maintenance responsibility but would preserve public access rights; the applicant said the gate at the road is already locked when staff are not present and that the association owns property on both sides of the road. After public comment and staff clarification, the board approved resolution 2026-12 to vacate County Road 62.
In other business the board interviewed and reappointed Michael S. to the Rio Blanco County Historic Preservation Board for a second term. Michael outlined a background in anthropology and historic outreach and told commissioners he would prioritize education and preservation outreach.
All three actions were approved by roll call.
