The Sarpy County Board on Tuesday voted to accept the county’s fiscal year 2025 audit after county officials and the independent auditor summarized the results.
Dan Telekus, the county’s chief financial officer, told the board the audit — prepared by Hayson Associates LLC — produced an unmodified opinion on the county’s financial statements. "Our financial statements received an unmodified opinion from the independent auditor," Telekus said, adding that the full audit report is 70 pages and is posted on the fiscal office webpage at sarpy.gov.
An auditor’s representative, Austin Hankey of Hayson Associates, thanked county staff for their cooperation and said the county’s internal controls over financial reporting also received favorable comments. He said the firm has conducted the county’s audit for multiple years and noted that a forthcoming change in single-audit thresholds (to $1 million) will affect future federal compliance work.
The board moved to accept resolution 2026-096 to accept the audit (motion by Warren; second by Mixon). The motion passed with no recorded roll-call tally. The county’s audit committee reviewed the report on March 30 and the document is available on sarpy.gov for public review.
