Fletcher Town Council approved routine and Hurricane-related items during its meeting.
Council moved, seconded and approved the minutes as presented. The consent agenda was also approved; council members noted two Hurricane Helen–related additions on the consent agenda: a resolution to waive permit fees for properties affected by the storm and a temporary one-year lifting of restrictions on RV/camper occupancy to assist displaced residents. The manager said the town had acted in advance of state action that would allow municipalities and counties to waive some rebuilding permit fees.
Separately, the council unanimously approved the town’s legislative-priorities list for 2024–25 and asked staff to add a cost estimate for a proposed river-restoration item now under consideration. The meeting ended after a motion to adjourn carried on a voice vote.
Votes were taken by voice and recorded as carried; the transcript does not include a roll-call vote or named vote tallies for any motion. Staff will publish the resolution text and clarify the fee-waiver and RV-occupancy details for public reference.
