Health department staff told the City of Franklin Board of Health on April 13 that the department has received strong participation in its community health assessment and outlined next steps for analysis and outreach.
Staff said the December survey yielded roughly 400 returned questionnaires, of which about 330 met data-quality thresholds and will be used for analysis (the department applies a completion cutoff of roughly 60% per survey). Data entry was described as nearly complete; staff said they plan more in-depth demographic analysis and thematic review of the main health concerns cited by respondents. Anecdotally, respondents most frequently raised chronic disease, communicable disease and mental health as priorities, and many requested improved pedestrian infrastructure such as sidewalks.
The department reported having completed 24 key-informant interviews and said it is pursuing a snowball sample to reach roughly 40 interviews by early summer. Focus groups are scheduled in May to include senior citizens, local youth, city employees and parents to achieve broader representation.
Staff encouraged board members to share recruitment contacts and said the Franklin Health Collaborative will review preliminary data to identify gaps for further collection. No formal decisions were taken at the meeting; staff indicated analysis and community engagement will continue through the summer.
