Franklin Health Department publishes 2025 annual report; copies distributed to council and partners

The City of Franklin Health Department announced on April 13 that its final 2025 annual report has been published, filed with the state health department in accordance with state statute, and placed on file at the city council. Health department staff said 100 printed copies were produced, digital copies are available on the city website, and every council member received a copy.

The report documents service-level changes across the department from 2024 to 2025. Staff said nearly all services increased, citing examples including sharps collection, distribution of radon test kits, communicable-disease investigations and mobile inspections for food trucks. "You do want citizens to know about your services and use them," a staff member said as the department described planned outreach through social media and links in the city newsletter; paper copies will remain available at the library and city hall.

Staff emphasized the report was a collaborative effort, noting it will also be shared with the Franklin Health Collaborative, a partnership of about 40 local organizations. The department said it will develop targeted community outreach using data points from the report to raise awareness of available services.

The board did not take a separate vote on the report at the meeting; staff said the city council approved and placed the document on file at its March 3 meeting. The department offered printed copies on display at its front counter for residents who visit in person.
